Well, of course I wasn’t the one to discover this movie, but I was the only person in my household to discover it and I’m proud of this because it’s a marvellous movie and I’ve already watched it three times. I’m sharing my household find with you, my readers, because I think you might like it or love it too.
Love Is All You Need is beguiling and adorable and romantic and realistic all at once. My favourite kind of movie (and book, come to that).
Starring Pierce Brosnan at his romantic comedy best, and Trine Dyrholm, Danish actress, singer and songwriter, Love is All you Need is set mostly in Italy in a wonderful rambling villa (surrounded by lots of lemon trees) full of everyday characters you’ll recognise from your own loving family and friends (plus lots of annoying ones), your children for whom you’re trying to do the best … and you.
For me, Love Is All You Need is a modern-day romantic story of opposites, problems, issues, dramas, worries and everything else. It’s adorable. It’s heart-warming. It’s truthful. It’s engaging. It’s just – lovely all over.
"In 2013 Love Is All You Need was selected as best comedy film at the 26th European Film Awards."
(Here's a secret - I always wanted to be Annette Benning, now I want to be Trine Dyrholm too.)
Here is the official trailer for Love Is All You Need
I hope you can catch it on whatever format you can catch it (legally, of course!).
