A house is a home when…
What does a house or a home mean to characters in a book? With the release of my fourth book in the Swallow’s Fall series, The Turnaround Treasure Shop, I decided to go outside my four walls and ask my neighbours - authors of contemporary and historical fiction.
Over 12 days special guest authors talk us through A house is a home when…
It's MONDAY and I’m welcoming MICHELLE DIENER!
(And there’s a giveaway too.)
"International bestselling author of historical and fantasy fiction Michelle Diener is happy crafting new worlds and interesting characters and wondering which part of the world she can travel to next."
Character bio: Phoebe is the daughter of a minor lord and a wealthy industrialist’s daughter. She has never been accepted into either world and since the death of her parents has been reconsidering her place in the world.
The House: The house I gave Phoebe to live in is Home House, which is in Portman Square in London. It is a Georgian building designed by Robert Adam, and has the most amazing staircase.
What does a house or a home mean to Pheobe?
Phoebe loves Home House because of the beauty of the house’s design. The rooms are beautifully proportioned and the staircase is unique and magical. The gardens are extensive and Phoebe uses the walled herb garden as a sort of sanctuary in which she can be completely herself.
Michelle's novels The Emperor's Conspiracy, Banquet of Lies and A Dangerous Madness are connected stories, but they're all standalone novels too and can be read alone.
Here are the covers
- and aren't they gorgeous?
